The tiling is complete

Our tiler came back today and finished off the bathroom and ensuite. He has now laid the feature tile, the tiling around the bath and completed the grouting. I must say, it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I am very impressed by the feature tile. I was concerned that it wouldn't look any good but now that it has been laid, I am extremely happy with our choice.

I am really pleased with how the tiler also laid the white tile all the way around the vanity instead of leaving a gap as was intended.  He had done an amazing job.

Exterior painting

The painters continued on with the skirting and architraves today. I could see them via the internal camera.

However, little did I know, they were also working on the exterior. Today they got the eaves, downpipes, cladding and front door painted.

When I went past this afternoon, to my surprise, the garage door had also been installed. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that.

It now looks more like a house. It is all coming together so beautifully and so quickly.

J gave our SS a call this afternoon to find out whether they would be replacing the aluminium strip at the front corner of the house along the cladding as it is a little bent, and to J's happiness, our SS advised we are about a month away from completion. That is the best news ever!

The painting and tiling will be completed this week, next week should see the plumbing, electrical and air conditioning fit off done, the week after I believe they will start on the tiling to the main floor area as well as carpet installation, then the Tyrells inspection will take place, followed by PCI.  Exciting!! I can hardly wait.

While I was there I quickly popped in and managed to get a photo of the ensuite tiles. I was hoping to see the floor but as he had just finished grouting it today, it was covered with black plastic.

An update on the tiling

The tiler came back today to continue with the tiles in the wet areas.  He has done a great job so far, has been very co-operative and has even asked us how we want things to be done. He says he would rather us be happy with the finished job.

The floor tiles look amazing so far and will be even better once grouted. The feature tile has not been done yet. He says he will be back next week to lay them and finish off.

Here is a few pics of the job to date.

An update on the tiling

J & I dropped in at the house this afternoon to check on the progress of the tiling, and to our surprise, our tiler had actually done most of the floors in both bathrooms.  It is looking pretty awesome too, if I may say so myself.

Wet area tiling has commenced

The tiling to our wet areas commenced today. However, in one full day, all he managed to do was the screeding to our ensuite floor. This is a little disappointing considering he was meant to start last Thursday.

We have one guy doing the job so at this rate, it's going to take some time :(

Baby Steps

Our range hood was delivered to the house on Tuesday and our tiles arrived on Wednesday morning.
Wednesday the range hood was installed (a little crooked too, J measured it and it is 6mm out) That is it for the past two days.

This morning I noticed on our internal camera that the missing laundry cabinets were being installed. I was expecting to see some tilers there today getting on with the tiling to the bathrooms and laundry but as yet there has been no sign of them.

J is going to meet with someone at the house today to measure up for our plantation shutters and roller blinds. By getting the windows measured now, we should be able to have the blinds installed just after handover.

I will post a couple of photos of the range hood tonight.
