The plasterers are in

Gyprocking commenced on Saturday, two days behind schedule. Apparently it takes roughly a week to complete the job. Upon speaking with the plasterers, they advised they expected to finish up on Wednesday.

Our cornices were installed yesterday. They look really good. As part of the Lifestyles Living Essentials Luxury Inclusions Package, two different types of cornice were provided.  There is the Symphony in the livings areas ie. kitchen, dining, living, home theatre, study; and Cove in all other areas.

The plasterers came back and did the sanding today and Paul advised that they will have to come back and fix one of the openings in the study wall as it was not finished off properly.

Here are some pics of the internal linings :)

Our internal doors were delivered today along with the skirting and architraves, with installation to start tomorrow. It could take up to a week to complete, depending on how many people are on the job.

Our electrical roughin is not quite right

J went by the house yesterday afternoon to check out the work of the electricians, only to find that a few things were not quite right.

Two of the three changes we made to our electrical plan prior to signing off our final documents (of which were supposed to be noted on our file that was forwarded onto Quicklec Electrical) were not changed but put in the original position.  There were other things on our original plan that were placed incorrectly or not at all.

We had parent teacher interviews this afternoon so it didn't give me a chance to go and look for myself, which only frustrated me a little more, considering I had the electrical plan printed off and prepared to take a walk through. Luckily, upon driving past on the way home from parent teacher interviews, the gates were still open so we took a very quick look at the kitchen (this was my biggest concern).

The two power points at each end of our splashback were positioned unevenly. One was set right into the corner and the other further out. There was an additional point (for light switch) on one end which wasn't correct.

We need the following alternations made:-
  • Power point in bedroom 4 moved (as per amended electrical plan)
  • Power point, tv point and extra noggins moved along the wall in bedroom 2 (they were placed in the corner)
  • Power points along cook run/splashback in kitchen repositioned and light switched moved

I was feeling pretty deflated now. J told me not to stress as he would contact our SS in the morning to get it sorted out. Fingers crossed it won't be an issue.

On a side note, our gyprock has arrived and is sitting in the dining area, and we have a new camera inside the house, in the corner overlooking the dining, living and kitchen area.  Our external camera has been removed once again.
