Electrical fit off has started

Friday saw our painters back to apply the final coat of paint. It looks really good too. Our SS showed me through and said that once the tiles go down, the paint will look a little darker, that due to the blandness of the concrete and the whiteness of the kitchen it looks lighter than it will once complete.  The painters have done a great job and I am really happy with the final result.

Today our electrical fit off commenced and to our surprise (and our SS's) the plumbing fit off got started too. They weren't scheduled to start until tomorrow.

I managed to sneak in this afternoon and take a few photos. They are not the best quality and I will post some better ones if I get the opportunity to go back in and take some more.

Work is scheduled to continue tomorrow.

According to our SS, main floor tiling should start early next week.  We are getting close!

The tiling is complete

Our tiler came back today and finished off the bathroom and ensuite. He has now laid the feature tile, the tiling around the bath and completed the grouting. I must say, it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I am very impressed by the feature tile. I was concerned that it wouldn't look any good but now that it has been laid, I am extremely happy with our choice.

I am really pleased with how the tiler also laid the white tile all the way around the vanity instead of leaving a gap as was intended.  He had done an amazing job.

Exterior painting

The painters continued on with the skirting and architraves today. I could see them via the internal camera.

However, little did I know, they were also working on the exterior. Today they got the eaves, downpipes, cladding and front door painted.

When I went past this afternoon, to my surprise, the garage door had also been installed. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that.

It now looks more like a house. It is all coming together so beautifully and so quickly.

J gave our SS a call this afternoon to find out whether they would be replacing the aluminium strip at the front corner of the house along the cladding as it is a little bent, and to J's happiness, our SS advised we are about a month away from completion. That is the best news ever!

The painting and tiling will be completed this week, next week should see the plumbing, electrical and air conditioning fit off done, the week after I believe they will start on the tiling to the main floor area as well as carpet installation, then the Tyrells inspection will take place, followed by PCI.  Exciting!! I can hardly wait.

While I was there I quickly popped in and managed to get a photo of the ensuite tiles. I was hoping to see the floor but as he had just finished grouting it today, it was covered with black plastic.

Our water tank has arrived

J went past this afternoon and noticed that our water tank has arrived. It has been put into place but not yet connected.  I am so glad we went with the slim line tank.

Grouting

The tiler started grouting the floor tiles today. They look awesome. I really can't wait to see the entire house finished now.

An update on the tiling

The tiler came back today to continue with the tiles in the wet areas.  He has done a great job so far, has been very co-operative and has even asked us how we want things to be done. He says he would rather us be happy with the finished job.

The floor tiles look amazing so far and will be even better once grouted. The feature tile has not been done yet. He says he will be back next week to lay them and finish off.

Here is a few pics of the job to date.

Painting has commenced

The painting has officially started. After the demonstration on Wednesday, the painters have returned today to continue the job.  So far, they have completed one coat of paint to the walls, skirting, architraves and ceilings.

I am very happy with the colour, although it is lighter than I though. However, with the second coat I am sure it will be a little darker. I think it is actually a good contrast with the floor tiles, which are darker than what I anticipated. But so far, I am loving everything that I see.
